Ham & Cheese Breakfast Pockets

Wondering what to do with all those Pillsbury biscuits you bought from Albertson's?

I needed something to use up leftover ham, and the recipe below used up some of those biscuits as well!

With one child waiting for breakfast and the other child soon to follow, I would say it was fairly quick to make since neither complained they were too hungry to wait!

I really enjoyed the final product, the Mister enjoyed them as well but considering he got them served to him in bed that might be a biased decision! Neither of the girls liked them; however, they both have fevers and are not feeling well so I am going to try this again when everyone is awake and feeling well.

Ham & Cheese Breakfast Pockets

1 can of Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits
8 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
8 tablespoons finely chopped ham

Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll each biscuit out to a round 5 inches. Place 1 Tbsp meat and 1 Tbsp cheese onto center of each biscuit. Fold biscuit in half and seal edges by pressing with a fork. Place biscuits on a greased or sprayed cookie sheet. Bake for 10-13 minutes. Enjoy!!!

Savings Saturday!

I need to start taking pictures of our goods before my 12 year old goes all gung-ho in putting it all away! In fact I should have her arrange the goods and take the pic, hehe! We headed out tonight for toilet paper, swung by our Smith's (Kroger) to see if we had this $0.99 toilet paper everyone seems to have, it was a no go and we managed to get in and out without purchasing anything, the hubby put back his $2.49 bagels to make this happen - I was so proud of him =]

Onward we went to Walgreens, where Scott was on sale and on coupon, making a 12 pack only $5.99. I figured while we were there I might as well get what else was on the list, so I also grabbed:
Instant Oatmeal~ $1.50
Pledge Fabric Sweeper
Glade Sense & Spray ~ $4.99
Glade Sense & Spray ~ FREE
Pledge Wipes
Drano Gel
Windex Wipes
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel
Thermacare Wrap ~ Free After Rebate
Fuze ~ $0.75
4 Cans Progresso ~ $3.00

Total after coupons and rebates: $14.48!
Total Saved: $61.35!

Shopping Day

I meticulously went over the sale items and my coupons to get the best deal on stuff we need or would use. We went to three grocery stores and the dry cleaners to pick up our comforter.

After coming home and relaxing I reanalyzed how we could have done better. Had we not bought 2 boxes of fruit snacks, 2 boxes of brownie mix, 4 frozen breakfast entree, Flipz pretzels, Glade plug-ins, and only 4 cans of Chef Boyardee instead of 10 we would have saved $12.20

Not much I know but in this economy every little bit counts, a lesson to be more careful next time on needs versus wants.

Change

I will be in the process of revamping this thing, been a while I know, but bear with me...

Just a tidbit for now:
I have been reading a lot of blogs lately and combined with my own knowledge have been working towards spending less and saving more. We just got back from a trip to Nebraska and I would like to get my girls to see more of the world before it is too late. Next stop: Disneyland!

So anywho, I am committing myself to a "No Spend Challenge," where I am committing to spending only once a week, starting today. This will not include our regular bills but will include groceries and other necessities like toilet paper, deodorant, and so on. If this sounds like something you;d like to know more about go visit The Motherload to get more info and sign yourself up!
